Network Profiles and Country Pages
Every electricity network operator on Network Map has a public profile page, and every country has a page listing its networks. They are free to read, need no account, and link straight into the live map.
What Is Available
| Page | Address | What it shows |
|---|---|---|
| Networks by Country | portal.networkmap.energy/networks | Every country and territory with the number of electricity network operators covered in each |
| Country page | /networks/<country>, for example /networks/australia | Each network operator in the country with its network type, service area and a short description |
| Network profile | /viewer/network/<network>, for example /viewer/network/ausgrid | The operator's profile, headline figures, key assets and the live map of that network |
| Asset page | /viewer/…/point/<asset> or /line/<asset> | A single substation, power station, data center or line on the live map |
Profiles currently cover 365 electricity network operators across 239 countries and territories. The map itself covers 225 countries; the country list includes territories and regions that have their own network operator.
Network Profiles
A network profile brings together what you would otherwise collect from an operator's website, annual report and the map. Each profile has:
- Header: the operator's name, network type (Electricity Distribution, Electricity Transmission, or Electricity Transmission and Distribution), service area and country, a link to the operator's own website and a Start Free button.
- Headline figures, where published, such as substations, kilometres of powerlines, customers and employees.
- Overview, with short sections such as Coverage, Customers, Assets and History.
- Key Assets: named assets in the network, grouped as Power Stations, Substations, Data Centres, Power Lines and, where the network has them, Pipelines, Cables and Fibre, and other lines. Each links to its own asset page on the live map.
- Explore the Full Network, to create a free account and see every layer of the network.
- More Networks in the same country, and a link to All Networks in <country>.
A network profile is part of the live map: as the page finishes loading, the map of that network appears, so you can pan, zoom and look at its lines and substations straight away. Country pages and the country index are plain pages that load instantly.
How to Find a Network
- Open Networks by Country.
- Choose a country. The country page lists each operator with its network type and service area.
- Choose an operator to open its profile.
- Choose a key asset to open it on the live map, or Start Free to create an account and load the full network.
Asset Pages
Every key asset link opens a page for that single asset on the live map: a substation, power station, data center or line. Asset pages have their own address, so you can bookmark them or share them with colleagues. Opening one takes you to that asset on the live map.
How to Use These Pages
Due Diligence and Research
Use a profile as a one-page brief on an operator before a meeting, a connection enquiry or an acquisition review: service area, scale, history and named assets in one place.
Sharing With Colleagues
Profiles and asset pages are public, so anyone you send a link to can open them without an account. Signed-in users see the same page with their own plan's layers and tools.
Finding Every Operator in a Market
Country pages answer "who runs the network here?" quickly. For example, a country page lists distribution businesses such as Ausgrid, Endeavour Energy and Energex alongside transmission businesses such as ElectraNet and TransGrid.
Accuracy
Profile text and headline figures are drawn from operators' published information. The key assets and the map are drawn from Network Map's network data, which is refreshed daily. If something on a profile is out of date, email support@networkmap.energy and we will correct it.
