Using the Map
The Network Map workspace puts every network, asset and dataset on one map.
Find a Place or Asset
Smart Spatial Search searches places and Network Map datasets together. Choose a result to fly there and switch on the matching layer.
Load Layers
- Layers are organised by country, then by network business (for example a transmission or distribution company), then by layer type such as lines, substations and poles.
- Autoload Layers loads the networks for the area you are looking at. Autoload Details also loads the detailed layers for that area.
- Right-click anywhere on the map to see the network layers nearby and switch them on instantly.
- Pin the networks you use often so they are one click away.
Analyse
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
| Measure | Distances along a path and to the nearest assets |
| Nearest points and Voronoi | Nearest substations or lines to a site, and catchments around network assets |
| 3D terrain and shading | High-resolution terrain, elevation contours and shadow modelling for slope, aspect and solar viability |
| Weather | Precipitation, temperature, wind and snow cover over the map |
| Street View | Look at overhead lines and substations at street level |
| Google Solar | Rooftop suitability, system size, panel count and annual output (Pro) |
| Business View | Network assets grouped by the business that owns them |
| Custom layers | Upload your own project data and see it against the network |
